Abstract

The article presents the aspects of pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome. One of the crucial pathogenetic factors — visceral hypersensitivity was considered in detail. There were shown the historical aspects of studying, forms and ways for evaluating visceral hypersensitivity. The correlation between visceral hypersensitivity and other factors of irritable bowel syndrome pathogenesis was analyzed.
